Mothers

mothers day

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day here in the states. I personally am getting together with my family to celebrate. I am blessed to still have my mother around, but more so blessed that we don’t completely drive each other nuts like we used to. (most of the time).

As for me, I’m not a mother (of a human child)…my child is my cat. I love that the greeting card industry makes cards for moms like me of our precious fur babies. My little boy drives me bananas sometimes, (like right now he is yowling while I’m trying to type this post), but he is truly my love.

One thing I wish the commercials would get is that not everyone IS a mother, that we have older moms that they need recognition too. Maybe add more for us mom of furbabies?

Take care tomorrow and if you’re blessed enough to have a mom (doesn’t have to be biological) enjoy!

Cheers, Steph

This hit home for me

You are never too old to do something great. Whether you are 24, 36 or 67 it’s never too late to live a life that you’re proud of. It’s never too late to start over to be what you might have been. It’s never too late to wake up one day and make a conscious […]

Gen X squeezed to death

https://www.bostonglobe.com/business/2015/06/10/millennials-think-they-have-bad-generation-has-worse/3vhfpB2PCGOSHD2mEX1AwM/story.html

Holy cow….I was thinking just today how badly Gen X (MY generation) has it. It isn’t my imagination at all. 😦  Sadly.

While I don’t have kids, I DO have aging parents and a ton of student loan debt. Sighhh. Will things pick up for the sandwich generation?

Introvert or Extrovert?

The Myers Briggs test tells us about what sort of personality we have.

via Introversion or Extroversion? — Psychology Today

How about Ambivert? Elements of both. I can be shy or social. I can be withdrawn or able to work with others. I can be both, or neither. I’ve taken these tests multiple times at different points in my life..and gotten different results.

These days I’m a hermit, but when working I can be very social (just to make working bearable).

What’s your experience?

A Book Is…

Why are books important? What makes them beautiful?

via A Book Is…. — Psychology Today

To me, a book is a new world. Of escape, fantasy, drama, you name it. It can entertain, educate, inspire, or all three.

I’ve written books since middle school age and haven’t stopped yet. I love for my readers to tell me how the story makes them feel, whether good or bad.

Books are a treasure.
