New Year!

It’s a fresh new year and full of possibilities (and decisions to be made).

My day job is not very fulfilling, but pays the bills. So my hobbies fill in the gaps 🙂

Here’s a rundown of what was accomplished :

Ice Fairy 3, Cid, This Time Around, Upstaged 3, Complications, and re-released Love by the Numbers. Plus work on other new projects and rewrites

I knit four cushion covers, two cat blankets, five washcloths, and a sawtooth shawl!

I painted about four paintings (mostly for family).

Here’s a smidgen of what I did:

So what’s shakin for this year? Rewrites, more paintings, but cutting back on the knitting. My job takes my hand strength and the only options are PT, or a cortisone shot. Oy. We’ll see what else I can do.

Plus, a HUGE thank you to everyone who’s joined this blog since I moved it over here to WordPress. I plan to post a lot more in the new year and change up the content, so stay tuned!

What’s shakin’ for your 2019?

This is book 3 of Sam and Brett’s story. And I loved it.

There is so much about their tough times that are realistic. Sam has won an Olympic medal and is now becoming a star. Sam is definitely enjoying his new-found fame, with an agent who is very aggressive and keeping Sam busy. This takes a toll on his relationship with Brett, as cracks are formed. Sam’s new schedule of appearances is preventing him from spending much time with Brett, let alone devoting time to him while they are together. Brett can’t take much more of this treatment. He is not liking this new, prima-dona version of Sam.

During this time, they are faced with problems from Sam’s agent, as well as his dad. Their friends are both helpful and hurtful throughout this time. And they get a hot offer from their friends Ryan and Caleb.

I really enjoyed this latest installment in Sam and Brett’s story. They are a great couple who have to face very realistic challenges that have the power to separate them. I absolutely found myself wanting to slap some sense into Sam, which was sad, but it proves how well this was written. I found his attitude to be such a sudden thing, but it made sense given there was a time jump from book 2 to this book.

They fact that they don’t function well when apart is just beautiful. I absolutely adore the way they are as a couple – how they ground each other and comfort each other.

Seriously, I love this book and highly recommend it!

On the surface, Sam and Brett appear to have it all. Sam is basking in his post-Olympic glory, and Brett is going to college working towards his own dreams. Underneath, major cracks are starting to form, and there are those who are more than willing to break Sam and Brett apart forever. It’s going to take a miracle, and a very unconventional proposal from friends to keep the fairytale alive. I was absolutely riveted by this fantastic, bittersweet, poignant, sexy, and emotionally charged tale. I highly recommend reading all three books in the Ice Fairy series in order.

Time and Olympic fame have changed the dynamic between Sam and Brett and they are close to the breaking point. Drifting apart due to time, loss of connection due to Sam’s attitude and Brett’s since of loss of their relationship is heartbreaking. They have friends that help with the best offer possible and they do find their way back to each other and to being stronger than ever.

This is a very steamy and very engaging story that will keep you reading. The writing is good and the characters are realistic and well done.

Five days to go…til Ice Fairy 3; Coming Together

With Olympic Gold in his possession, Sam is the newest darling of the skating world. Brett does his best to be supportive but the brighter the light shines on his boyfriend; the more he is left in the shadows. Cracks appear and the relationship begins to break down.
Their friends try their best to assist however they can. Their advice and support is crucial when Brett suspects Sam’s creepy agent is up to no good; and even more so when a dastardly plot by Sam’s own father is uncovered.
Can this couple finally come to terms with fame and find the peace they crave? An offer by Ryan and Caleb might provide the answers they seek…if they’re brave enough to take a leap of faith.
Is it too late for Brett and his precious Ice Fairy or can they come together?

Books Under Construction

construction  Oh yes, construction. Rework, redo, refurbish, you name it. If you go to my page on Amazon, you will notice several titles now missing…why?

  1. They need a makeover. Not just lipstick and mascara, but a full-face makeover worthy of a Kardashian!
  2. They will be put into box sets. Most of my works are series (if you can tell from my tabs). People love to get a bargain, so I will be working those into box sets.
  3. There will be paperbacks! Who doesn’t miss the sweet smell of the pages or the joyous sound of those pages flicking by, or perhaps the feel of a glossy cover. I miss it! I’m sure readers do too, so when these are refreshed, they will be all be available in physical form.
  4. I am diverting my focus to newer works that are coming out a faster pace than I can currently handle (as well as the market). All good things in time.

That’s just the beginning, but I won’t divulge it all now. The best I can say is…stay tuned. 🙂

Thank you for your support!

Cheers, Steph

Bittersweet Day

Hello all!
As most of you know, for the past 3 1/2 years I have been the owner of Romance First Publishing.
As of Tuesday, that company will be shut down.
Why? Due to lack of time, and a very tumultuous personal life; I no longer have the resources with which to run it properly and to the extent I wish.

I want to thank everyone who’s been supportive and of great help over these years, you rock!!

That said, what little time I do find to write of late is my own work, which I will be releasing in small, but hopefully regular, doses. I hope you’ll join me on my continuing journey.

Thanks again!

It’s a new dawn…

It’s a new dawn for me! After a long time of being somewhat ‘off the radar’ as far as book releases, etc…I am very happy to report that things will be a’changing!

Perhaps inspired by age, the year, or by death itself (a reminder always that life is short and we should do what we were born to do) and part of that for me is always…. a writer.

Luckily my well did not run completely dry. There have been great stories penned between myself and Nephylim (The Upstaged series) as well as the Ice Fairy series. (finishing edits on book 2).

But that isn’t enough and hasn’t been enough. School took over my life, then finding work, and then again (most work now is contractor) so that’s a constant.

Finally! Some stability is creeping into my world again. I am signed on to be working at least til the end of this year, we’re staying put in our current abode, the cats are healthy, I’m getting long overdue medical work done, and life is finally calming down. What better time for writing?

After nearly 8 months of not putting ‘pen to paper’ I am finally back…and to quote Michael Buble:

It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life for me……and i”m feelin’ good!

Thank you all very much for sticking by me, with me, and supporting me during these dark times.

Much love to all and cheers!
