Sorry for missing the last two weeks! I’ve not forgotten my dedication to the snippets authors but life (and now potential illness) are getting in the way. First they thought hubby had Covid so they sent him home for quarantine for most of the week. Yay! I was home anyway and we love just hanging out and talking, playing with the cats, etc. (He is OK btw, no virus).
However, this past Friday my eye started to look ‘lazy’ and by Saturday I had swelling on my jawline. Mayo Clinic points to mumps…eeeek! I got all the vaccines as a 70’s kid…how the heck??? I guess I’ll find out tomorrow at urgent care. Wish me luck! If I do have it, it’ll be a two-week quarantine for me.
Otherwise, the frozen midwest has finally broken out of the polar vortex’ grasp and we got above freezing on Saturday! Yay! I was elated to go outside and not have to wear my huge parka. 🙂
Here’s my snippet for the week: (see below)
This week I pick up after the performance is over and Billy and Erik are alone in the garage. Poor Billy has been raked over the coals with Erik’s lack of feelings before; but his loyalty cannot be denied.
What is Rainbow Snippets? It’s a group of LGBT+ authors who post six sentences (or more) from a current WIP, published work or even something they’ve read that they want to rave about. Click on the link below the rainbow to be transported to a place of wonder where you will find tasters of everything from sweet romance, to hot and steamy, to fantasy and sci-fi.
I’m changing gears completely and going to a beloved co-authored work and a series of Upstaged. Written by myself and Cheryl Headford (Nephy to some) in 2012! Over the course of two years we wrote 12 books together! It was the most insane, wonderful time of my writing life! We hope you love the result. The first four books are published and up for sale at Extasy Press and on Amazon. Here is book #1. Upstaged: Opening Act
Wannabe singer and band front man Erik Von Nordgren hates snarky brit Asher Berkley with a passion. From the moment he turns up at practice with his twin sister Daisy, who is one of the band the two have hated each other.
Through a series of ‘tit for tat’ incidents they annoy, frustrate and exasperated each other. The die hard goth with purple eyes and the hard core rocker with dreams of the big time have nothing in common and no need to cross paths. Except to wind each other up.
Until the day that Erik throws Asher in the school pool, when everything begins to change. Erik is so far in closet he’s in Narnia and Asher has a dark past and trust issues that stand in the way of any relationship, let alone one with the brash American who hurts him every time they try to get together.
A relationship doomed from the start, or so you’d think.

“Come on. I know the truth.” Billy lowered his voice to a whisper. “I know you like guys, and I saw him checking you out that whole time. He wants you and I could almost swear…”
“That guy’s just an asinine Brit trying to make waves.”
Billy brightened but he was worried. “We’re still friends, right? I don’t want him to try and muscle his way between us. I think you like that guy.”
“Listen here, Billyboy.” Erik put his hands on his friend’s shoulders and gazed into his face. “Our friendship is rock solid. As for me liking that guy, you’re imagining things. Go home, Billy Carp.”
