Rainbow Snippets December 15th

Let it snow! As I type we are under a winter storm warning here in ye olde Midwest. Now…to keep the ice away or cross my fingers that work will wait until Tuesday 🙂

Shoulder is much better, yay! Thank you to everyone who gave advice. I am still on a mild painkiller, but have almost full range back. Driving is a cinch and my neck is fine. Whew!

What is Rainbow Snippets? It’s a group of LGBT+ authors who post six sentences (or more) from a current WIP, published work or even something they’ve read that they want to rave about. Click on the link below the rainbow to be transported to a place of wonder where you will find tasters of everything from sweet romance, to hot and steamy, to fantasy and sci-fi.

This week I’m sticking with one of my older works again which was formerly “Refugees” but was re-named “This Time Around”.

Blurb:

Can two lonely souls finally get a second chance on getting it right?

Robert can’t believe this has happened again. His heart is in tatters, all because of his once-again ex. Out of pure frustration, he takes matters into his own hands and gives boxing a try. All he gains is an injured hand, which needs the attention of a physical therapist.

David is overwhelmed and his heart is in denial over the sudden departure of the man he was in love with. As he tries to piece his life back together, a patient needing therapy walks into his clinic and the attraction is immediate; but the desire is not.

Can these two finally find a good relationship that will last and work this time around?

The patient smiled back. “Hi David, I’m Robert Marshall.”

“Nice to meet you. Well, just lemme know when you’re done.” David slapped the glass window shut.

Robert sighed, sat down, and filled out the forms. Luckily, he was ambidextrous.

About ten minutes later, David waved him back to an exam room. Robert took in the therapist’s appearance. He was a tall guy to his mere 5’10”. His blond hair was mussed, and he had at least three days’ growth of whiskers on his chiseled face.

His shirt had the first two buttons open, which revealed his pale, muscular chest which Robert found inviting.Any good parts were overshadowed by the overwhelming aroma of coffee. It looked like he’d been sleeping at his desk.

  1. Great description; David’s appearance says so much about his current state of mind, bless. I love the smell of coffee (tho not the taste!) but it can be overpowering in a small space like a consulting room!
