31 Day Blog Challenge: Day 9

31-day blog challengeOK let’s see how consistent I am with this 🙂 I may ‘schedule’ posts for the first time in forever.

Day 9: Piercings and tattoos

Ah, now this one is easy! I have only my ears pierced. I considered having them double-pierced (at the time twas fashionable), but no. I was 12 1/2 years old and I remember going to Stix, Baer, and Fuller (or was it Dillards by then)…and I pushed the starter post into my lobe so much that it formed an imprint and bled. Yeah, good times??? LOL It’s all good now, the once a year or so I wear earrings at all, they go in just fine.

Tattoos? I’ve considered it, for perhaps 0.628 seconds. Pain is NOT for me and needles are a definite no no. I do temporary tattoos, does that count?

Final week!

OK so Scott and Jared love each other, that much is obvious. They start a relationship and Scott is over the moon with happiness! He wants to exchange commitment rings with Jared. All looks to be perfect, right?

“Jared, I love you with all my heart. I didn’t think I could love anyone like this. I know that God has brought us together by fate and we’re meant to be. You’re the most important person in my life! What I’m asking is… will you go steady with me? We’ll agree to be only with each other?” Scott reached for a small flocked navy velvet box he’d hidden on the picnic bench. He opened it and presented the sterling silver rings.

Jared gasped aloud and his eyes welled with water. Scott’s blue eyes looked hopefully into Jared’s teary brown ones. The blond took his boyfriend’s hands and kissed them softly. He broke into sobs, which confused Scott a bit, but Scott hugged him anyway.

“Shhh. Hey, what is it?” he queried.

Jared finally calmed enough to talk. “I… I don’t want to hurt you, but I can’t go steady with you.”

“What? Why can’t you? Jared, if you ever loved me, there has to be a reason!”

Jared caught his breath and tried to look into Scott’s eyes. “I’m sorry, I just can’t… I don’t think I can commit to you like that.”

Scott’s facial expression turned from one of concern to deep hurt in a split second. He broke into tears and violently pulled his hands away from Jared. “I see,” Scott said icily. He closed the navy box and whisked it away from the table.

Jared clamored for Scott’s hand but was denied. “I’m sorry, Scott! I’m so sorry!”

Not to leave you with a cliffhanger, huh???  LOL

31 Day Blog Challenge: Day 8

Day 8: An old photo of me

Sorry, can’t do it today. I work in anonymity, as sad as they may be. Some people just don’t like straight women who write gay fiction; more they hate the subject matter. So, I must remain anon.

31 Day Blog Challenge: Day 7

Day 7: My 10 favorite foods

Ooooh, now here’s a post I can sink my teeth into! LOL  I am a foodie, and unlike my husband and father who ‘eat to live’ I live to eat! Here are 10 of my favs:

  1. Chocolate. preferably dark (but will take milk or white too)
  2. Cheese. cheddar, brick, muenster, swiss…ah my loves
  3. Cookies. with dark chocolate, or chocolate chips, or icing
  4. Yogurt. greek preferably (which was an acquired taste) key lime, vanilla, etc.
  5. Cauliflower. a departure to healthy??? believe it or not. with two cheese slices I love this stuff!
  6. Carrots. yup, another healthy one. Can’t eat ’em raw, so cooked is my order.
  7. Strawberries. or berries in general sans seeds of course (I’m eyeing you blackberry, you hurt my jaw)!
  8. Peanut butter. my favorite protein source besides #9. I love crackers and peanut butter the best.
  9. Chicken. bawk bawk! Yup! grill this sucker up, I’ll take white or dark meat, I love it all.
  10. Coffee. does this count as a food? Hmpf. My list, my rules, right? Coffee is da bomb.

Tell me what your favorite foods are…do we match?

Day 6:  3 personality traits I am proud of

  1. I am very proud of my flexibility/adaptability. I am a Jane of all trades when it comes to the workforce (now it seems to be hurting me) but in the golden age (in my 20’s) this was a great asset!
  2. I am proud of my creativity. Helping to craft over 30 books is proof of that.
  3. I am proud of my raw determination. I will find a way, I assure you.

Day 5: My guilty pleasure

Hmmm, chocolate? No way. Sims? Not a chance. Voltron? Maybe. I didn’t get into Voltron until this past year and I got into it with a vengeance! My husband says I’m obsessed (ok, maybe I am, but I own it) I have Pinterest boards dedicated to it, fandom pieces written, and wallpapers on my screens of my favorite characters (Coran mainly and some of Lance too).

So, my not-so-guilty pleasure is Voltron, Legendary Defender 🙂  Season 6 was sweeeet!

Day 4: My earliest childhood memory

Birth? Lol, no, but not too far away from that. I have flashes of memories from about 15 months old, when my brother and I were playing in our house with these toy eggs on the steps (carpeted). I recall all four of us (mom, dad, brother, me) being together a LOT, and they watched over us like hawks 🙂

31 Day Blog Challenge: Day 3

Day 3: Meaning of my business name

The meaning of my business name…is my name, a name I made up from both family and fiction. My business is that of creating gay fiction books that I want people to enjoy. My old logo had the right tagline ‘endearing fiction’ as I’ve had many a reader tell me that the characters touched their hearts.
